Policy date: December 3, 2001
Even when an investigator receives an award for several years
of funding, he usually receives funds for one year at a time.
Many agencies require the investigator to submit a funding request
for the next year. When the funding request for the next year
needs to be submitted to the agency, Proposal Services asks the
PI or center personnel for an updated budget. Many times the
detailed budgeting for the out years did not come to KUCR at
the time of proposal submission. Post Award Services does need a detailed budget before they can set up the
next year's award.
Therefore, KUCR's policy is that the PI or center personnel
needs to provide this detailed budgeting at the time of the next
year's funding request. Then when the funding arrives, Post Award Services can
immediately set up the budget summary for the next year's funding,
and not have to wait on budgeting issues.
