Old Account Codes

The switch from 3-digit to 5-digit expenditure and receipt codes

Effective July 1, 2004, the KU Center for Research began using 5-digit KU expenditure and receipt codes (or account codes). All queries and reports were modified (including DEMIS) so that the old 3-digit accounts and the new 5-digit accounts would roll-up into the same budget category.

Old class codes previously used for F&A Return

Effective May 1, 2002, the KU Center for Research began using "deptid" codes instead of "class" codes in the PeopleSoft financial system for distribution of F&A revenue to deans, chairs, directors, and principal investigators. Each class code was replaced by a deptid. The balance on each class was transferred to the deptid and the class codes deactivated. Transaction history on classes remains available in DEMIS-CRINCFS. This change was necessary in order to use new features in PeopleSoft for grants management. The lists below provide a cross reference from the old class and speedchart codes to the new deptid codes. They do not include any new deptids created after May 1, 2002.
