Definitions
- Pre-Qualified:
- A GRA who has not passed all three qualified examinations.
The GRA will work closely with an assigned mentor, meet the
mentor on a regular basis, attend the appropriate seminars,
complete required coursework, and complete research projects
as assigned by the mentor.
- Post-Qualified:
- A GRA who has passed all three qualifying examinations. The
GRA will work closely with an assigned mentor to accomplish
the goals and objectives of the research projects, meet regularly
with the mentor to discuss the projects, attend and participate
in seminar, completed necessary coursework, and complete research
projects as assigned by the mentor.
- Post-Preliminary:
- A GRA who has passed the preliminary examination and all
three qualified examinations. The GRA will work on a research
plan leading to the eventual production of a PhD dissertation.
The GRA will meet regularly with an assigned mentor to discuss
research progress and necessary changes in direction of the
research projects, attend and participate in seminars, complete
required coursework, and complete research projects assigned
by the mentor.
