KUCR Corporate Statement

The University of Kansas Center for Research, Inc. (KUCR) was incorporated in 1962 and, by developing and administering research in engineering and related interdisciplinary areas, assisted the University of Kansas in attaining its goals of excellence in education. As a non-profit University Affiliate, the Center is charged with applying, improving, and increasing the resources of the University of Kansas for research, advanced instruction and public service.

Effective July 1, 1997, KUCR's services expanded to enhance the research experiences of all University faculty and staff, encompassing all sponsored programs conducted through Lawrence campus.

The operations of the Center are governed by a board of trustees as well as elected officers. All of KUCR's officers are University administrators and (or) faculty members. An executive committee, in the absence of the trustees, has charge of both the business and general operation of the corporation and conducts any business that it deems to be in the best interests of the corporation as KUCR pursues its objectives.

The Center administers research projects through a support staff that provides services in proposal, financial, and grant accounting; human resources and payroll; and contract and subcontract administration and negotiation.
